project for development of Object GIS (Geographical Informational System)
tool. Map server was a part of the tool. The map server is a web-based tool,
which creates maps on demand from geodetic data. The geodetic data was stored
on Oracle Spatial, which is part of Oracle 9i. Maps were created online by
receiving the client request and using Java Servlets for fetching and
rendering the data on image. The image was then encoded in GIF/JPEG format
and sent to the client browser. Roles
